Jakarta Old Town, a nomination in the "World Heritage Site"

UNESCO has set the areas nominated as a World Heritage Centre



Jakarta Old Town is easier sold as a tourist destination area that deserves to be nominated in the "World Heritage Site", which are selected on January 1, 2015, and has values of history, with a distinctive architectural building.

This area also has received appreciation from the tourists, tourist arrivals are increasing throughout October to December 2014, an average of 775 thousand people per month.


Old Town district authorities have made preparations and ground breaking for the Performing Arts Building as one of the forms of support to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As previously known, the region became a real historical evidence of the city's history, which is still attached to the architectural heritage buildings from the colonial era.


From this area we can see a glorious period of the maritime world of the region, before the arrival of the Portuguese and the Dutch into the land of the Indonesian archipelago, and the VOC period, as the largest maritime trade center based in the archipelago of Indonesia.
