Lake Kelimutu Always Changing Colors

The lake is known as the 3 small lakes with three colors



A natural wonder in Flores, an island in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, which is known to have lakes on the mountain with typical colorful, red, green, and black.

But a privilege regularly lakes can be transformed into another color, such as blue and milky white. Lio community, local residents, believe that as a sign of a change of outstanding natural.

Color change will have signs of nature or natural phenomena of this world around, according to the traditions surrounding villagers' trust, such as an earthquake, flood, tsunami and others in the surrounding area.


And special events that take place on Saturday, April 25th, 2015, and on Sunday, April 26, 2015, these lakes change color, previously occurred three years ago, in 2013. Well, at this point the locals will wait for what will be a natural occurrence ensues, in the near future.

Local residents named one of the lakes as Lake Ata Polo original green color changed to red, while the Lake Ata Bupu original black color changed to green.

And, now Lake Kelimutu in Flores became red, white and green, the color change is due to the possibility of a result of the activity of volcanology. Despite this, Kelimutu which is one of the natural attractions that are unique and interesting.
